Writing every day is a joke.

-

I look at some content creators, and squirm.

They seem to create and publish so much.

I feel jealous of their insane output and work ethic.

When I see it, it often triggers a kind of ‘closing down’ mechanism in me that makes me want to play video games in my Garfield shorts for a week.

But the funny thing is, many people approach me and say the same things about me.

They say, ‘Yo Alex! How the heck do you create so much each week? It’s insane bro.’

I have to blink twice because, to be honest, the time I spend each day writing isn’t actually all that much - sometimes 30 minutes.

It’s the consistency of it that likely creates the bulk of the illusion.

But it’s not just that.

With more material on my computer files, I have more ideas to play with, repurpose and re-use in creative ways.

This means the barrier to entry and completion gets smaller.

The more I create, the more momentum I have, and the faster I get.

That’s the edge.

And it can be yours, too, surprisingly quickly.

What looks like a grind to one person is often seeing someone with momentum.

So this message is for those of you thinking about, or in the midst of creating anything...regularly.

Stick with it.

Focus on the work, not the result.

Realise momentum is your greatest secret, and ally.
