Will people care about what you have to say?

. . .

I’ve been gathering info about what you guys struggle with.

A common reason for not writing or creating is worrying that people won’t be interested in what you have to say.

Here’s my view:

People get far too hung up on thinking they need to say something no one else has said before or saying it in the ‘best’ way.

And it stops you from creating. It stops you from making an impact and growing your audience.

But you absolutely don’t need to be the best.

What is ‘best’ anyway?

This held me back for a long time. I thought I had to be an amazing writer with an amazing point in order to write. But that’s not what people are looking for.

Your readers want to hear a human perspective.

And you already have that baked into what you write because ONLY YOU ARE YOU.

Your advantage is being you and having had your unique set of experiences and past struggles and realisations.

That’s what you need to write about. It’s about saying something from your perspective.

This makes you relatable, believable, and, therefore, more compelling as a writer.

People aren’t looking for yet more information. They want something real.

Your context is what counts (it also sets you apart from AI, which has had ZERO life experiences).

So share from your point of view. The world needs your (screwed up, twisted, odd, unconventional, refreshing, relatable, flawed) perspective.

Trying to be like everyone else or to say it ‘better’ than others even works against you.

Use your personal anecdotes and stories to give more context to your points.

Tell us your opinion. Be bold.

Don’t say what you feel you ‘should’ say.

Say what you believe is true.

Tell us about what makes you angry or happy.

That’s how you become someone worth following.

Many of you will find writing consistently FAR easier and more enjoyable with guidance like this.

I know it works because this is what keeps me writing daily. I’m releasing a course in the next few days that shows you how to write consistently and confidently.

The Confident Writer course shows you everything you need to know to start writing consistently online, what to write about and where to do it in a way that energises you.

Stay posted.

If you’re an Ember subscriber, you’ll get free early access to this course in the next few days.
