Why 'quality over quantity' might be making life harder
It took me years of frustration to realise that the secret to happiness isn’t having more money or better relationships.
It took me years of frustration to realise that the secret to happiness isn’t having more money or better relationships.
These help.
But what makes the most difference is the degree to which we stop thinking about needing happiness.
By thinking you need it, you inadvertently emphasise you don’t have it. Which makes us unhappy.
Yes, I know - humans are a bit silly that way.
So, once we realise we are already happy without all the forcing and striving and shoving, we’re left to actually live life.
But, to keep away these ‘I am not happy’ thoughts, we need to do things.
Action keeps us out of our heads.
But many of us create excuses for not doing, because of some variation on:
I am not good enough, so I may get it wrong and I don’t want that feeling of failure, so I will hold back.
So we fear ‘quality.’ We don’t do so much. And then we get bombarded with ‘I am not happy’ thoughts all over again.
While driving through rural Estonia, I listened to Adam Grant’s book ‘Originals’.
He said something that reminded me of the power of quantity over quality:
There is a high correlation between those we consider geniuses like Picasso, Da Vinci, and Bach and how much they created.
They were specialists in the prolific. They produced a lot.
A lot of their stuff wasn’t all that good, but they created so much that they gained the needed feedback to improve.
Here’s my point:
There’s a genius in you.
When you find that genius, you will find yourself more able to contribute. To make others happy. To change the world.
Genius isn’t reserved for a small handful of strangers living in foreign lands.
It’s accessible to you when you’re willing to let go of your judgemental mind and produce in volume.
In what will you be prolific?
Where will you uncover your genius?
How do you silence those continual ‘I am not happy - I am not enough’ thoughts - so you can get out of your own way and create without fear?
I guide you through my unique system that helps you reconnect with your free, creative mind. Illusions disappear, stress seems alien and you re-establish contact with this buzzing sense of innate happiness.
