What if you could have it in just three months?
The secret to actually getting what you want
I looked in the mirror and saw how exhausted I looked.
For months, I'd been telling myself I needed to walk more so I could improve my sleep.
But I kept defaulting to walking 'when I felt like it.' And that meant my walks were sporadic and half-hearted.
A few months ago, I felt a hit of anger in my chest, and I did something different.
I made a firm decision: 7,000 steps minimum, every single day.
This wasn't some loose, nice-to-have-but-I'm-busy type of commitment.
This was solid, with a clear plan including tracking my steps.
Within a week, I hit my goal of 7.5 hours of sleep, seven days a week.
I haven't skipped a day since.
My sleep is better than it's been in years.
That one, firm decision has affected every area of my life (the power of commitments, eh?!).
I've noticed over the years that people who are continually lost are often great at talking but terrible at making and following a plan.
They may even write down their goals.
But you never hear about them hitting any of them.
I see talented people with a hundred exciting ideas who never make progress on any of them.
Then I see others who are often less 'naturally talented' who choose ONE thing, commit to it, and build a daily or weekly habit to make it real.
They made a commitment.
And they have a system to honour that commitment.
