- What if writing was your escape?
What if writing was your escape?
Ember course releases this week
I’ve written for many years but didn’t always view it as an ‘escape.’
I saw it as a chore.
I would sit at my desk with a sigh, watching the blinking cursor, afraid of my own blank mind.
Over the years, I found my groove, and now I often write to de-stress.
When I adopt the right mindset, writing has become something I look forward to, just as I look forward to a dip in the sea on a hot day.
When did I find my groove?
When I made the connection.
The connection was understanding how my words would make someone else feel better.
It’s cathartic writing knowing that other strangers would read it and feel a little bit better.
That gave me a sense of purpose again.
It just feels good. And this makes it fun.
I get to write to make you smile, or think, or reflect or yelp out with a fist pump to the sky.
You’re in a position to do this, too.
It starts with getting conscious about what your readers might like to read.
What keeps them up at night?
What are their dreams?
What are their fears and desires?
Get into the real emotions of it through empathy.
Writing becomes a spiritual experience this way.
Not a ‘ChatGPT and send’ experience. Empty.
Write to become alive.
You’ll be alive when you share what others really need to hear.
The course I’m releasing this Sunday 23rd for Ember subscribers shows you exactly how to start writing stuff people want to read.
It does this by helping you figure out what you’re best suited to writing about and who for.
It shows you how to find their problems and write about them in a simple, gratifying way.
When you know these things, you’re flooded with a sense of mission that excites you, attracting the right readers.
(I’m releasing The Confident Writer for an hour only)
