This little tweak could explode your writing

New Ember mini-course arriving tomorrow

A few years ago, I wrote what I thought was a brilliant article.

I used tight language, clever words, and plenty of research.

It took over an hour to write.

I hit send and was absolutely sure it would fly.

An hour later…

It felt like a frog had established a home in my throat.

A week later, I dashed off a weird little post about how I often overcome procrastination by thrusting my hips like a degenerate chimp on spring break.

The basic premise was that dancing loosens you up, helping you get into a productive flow.

It got over 28,000 likes on Twitter in about a day.

So, what changed?

One had a strong, unexpected concept. The other did not.

It was then that I learned the power of high-concept writing.

High-concept writing is basically sharing ideas in ways that people don’t expect or go against the grain.

It’s not necessarily about delivering insanely original ideas.

It’s about how you deliver an idea.

In a noisy internet world, whether you’re writing posts, sharing videos, creating books, or whatever, you need to know how to grab attention.

Otherwise, people won’t be hooked in, and they will scroll on to the next guy.

High-concept ideas help you get a foot in the door and multiply your views.

The best writers, I’ve noticed, the ones who grow fast, build real audiences, and spark momentum, aren’t just writing well.

They’re pattern breakers.

They’re not here to share yet more information, but to deliver surprises.

I believe everything you create should surprise. Yup.

Being good at high-concept writing will accelerate your impact online this way, no matter the content you share.

It’s a secret I see barely anyone using.

Here’s another high-concept writing idea of mine that worked recently:

One of the best ways to destroy social anxiety is to embrace awkwardness.

Most people are terrified of looking awkward and weird silences.

Not you. You embrace that awkward life (like a G).

Be awkward. Then you have nothing to be afraid of.

Ironically, you’ll be chill.

It’s simple, but contrarian, and the post took off.

Once you start thinking of your content through this lens, a lot can change, often rapidly.

You stop writing tepid content no one finishes.

You stop blending into the sea of sameness.

You write things people actually remember and want more of.

Because high-concept writing is magnetic.

And the good news is… It’s a skill.

You can learn it. And I can show you how.

This month’s Ember mini-course is out tomorrow.

It’s called:

The High Concept Blueprint: Write Against the Grain So You Stand Out (And Attract Die-Hard Fans)

Inside, I’ll walk you through 15 ways to turn ordinary content into something original, addictive, and unforgettable.

It’s a plug-and-play system for writing posts and articles that stop the scroll and grow your brand by doing what no one else thinks to do.

You get access the moment you upgrade to Ember, where I release a fresh course every month (no archive — each course is a one-time drop).

The latest high-concept course is arriving tomorrow, 22nd April, for 5 hours only.

P.S. You don’t need more ideas. You need better-delivered ones.

The High Concept Blueprint will show you exactly how to write them.
