There are people chasing me at the airport and I am typing on my phone.
. . .
When you think airports, do you think zen?
Not me, but they can become surprising places for zen.
I’m in Warsaw, waiting for a flight to Sofia.
I’m assaulted by screeching announcements about late passengers with unpronounceable names.
Children running around with drooly little faces.
People with oversized bags sprint through the airport, scattering groups of zombified people standing in queues.
They chase a flight that hasn’t boarded yet anyway.
I thought they were running towards me, but they veer to the right last second.
The CO2 in the air is thick.
Addicts stand in glass cubes, blowing out smoke.
And yet, here I am typing this little email on my phone.
Sudoku can wait five minutes.
I write because I can’t break my flow. And because I have flow, I want to write.
At least a little.
I’m not here to tell you to create more in a braggy way. But I am saying we are running out of excuses to express ourselves on the Internet.
You may surprise yourself with what you can create in ‘unfavourable’ environments.
While you wait to board a plane or get on a bus, you can:
• Record a podcast
• Outline your next booklet
• Shoot a quick video
• Write a 200-word newsletter.
So - you can wish you were more productive.
Or you can actually be more productive.
Regardless of the chaos.
Toodles.
