The hidden secret to creating more
. . .
People approach me asking me how I can write so much.
They say they don’t have time or they lack discipline.
Or they just don’t have the ‘personality’ to sit down and focus.
But then they return to scrolling crap on their phones for 7 hours a day.
Many escape to videos because they’re dissatisfied.
But the more they scroll, the more natural creativity seeps out.
Because there is a direct, scientific link between screen use and productivity.
How?
Frequent dopamine spikes from screens desensitise your brain’s reward system, making deep work feel dull.
But when you reduce instant stimulation, your baseline dopamine stabilises, making focus and creativity naturally easier.
I still use screens way too much.
But I noticed that my zest for creating improves when I reduce screen time, even if it’s just a little.
I found you don’t need to quit screens outright to see improvements.
I just knew that if I wanted an edge in this dopamine-addicted society, I needed to bring more consciousness to how I use my time.
Choosing to read a book, meditate, go for a walk, or write instead of watching junk was like finding a secret cheat code.
My dopamine receptors began to heal and reset.
So much time was released.
My ideas were clearer and better.
And my business grew.
See it as a game.
Challenge yourself to swap out more screen time for other things.
It’s an exchange.
The less you succumb to fake dopamine sources on screens, the more you are rewarded with a natural desire to make things.
The ideal place to direct all this newfound energy is daily writing.
(Writing on a screen is okay).
But writing consistently is easier when you know what makes others want to read your stuff.
Online Writing Alchemy course shows you exactly how.
