The guy was having an attack
-
I finally got a new car.
It's been 20 years since I last bought a car, a 1990s Vauxhall Corsa.
Today I drove out with an old Pajero, which opens up the Bulgarian countryside to all kinds of new adventures.
I just parked the blue beast in a parking spot near me, which took an hour because of language exchange issues.
The guy at the booth seemed to be having a panic attack when I knocked on the window to ask about month-long stays.
I finally got through to his assistant on Viber, who told me the guy had some issues and sometimes shut down.
We struggled on the phone for a while, mainly because we missed one crucial piece of information that would have made everything easier.
I had to pay on the way out.
Not the way in.
Tiny thing. But understanding that would have avoided the strained back-and-forth and nearly crashing my new car into the barrier.
But if this hadn't happened, I wouldn't have this story for you.
It's all part of life's rich tapestry, as my dad says.
Language is everything.
Even one tiny skipped beat can lead to all kinds of confusion.
It's the same with writing. You can have a good idea and a story worth telling, and these days AI will happily spit it out for you at speed.
But if you miss the beat that moves the reader, the whole thing flatlines.
This is why, even if you use AI to help you write, you need to know what is essential in your writing for it to land.
That's why I built Online Writing Alchemy.
It's the system I've used for 15+ years to write words that move people to want to do things, and it makes everything you do with AI ten times sharper, because you finally know which beats land.
