The farm is closer than you think
Black Friday deal is here
I’ve been aiming for a few acres of my own, away from a city.
Throw in some chickens. Dogs. A bit of forest land for wood. A big garden and a workshop for making art. Maybe some goats.
There's some part of me that's been increasingly yearning for something like this as each year passes (I recently hit 41).
And I'm actively working toward this right now, having spent some years figuring out how to make something like this work.
I'm noticing more and more people want something like this.
This isn't for everyone, but if you're reading this, there's a decent chance you at least know what I'm talking about.
But many people I speak to who share this dream give off the vibe that it will never happen.
A big part of this seems to be thinking they have to choose between the farm (or whatever sanctuary you're aiming for) and financial security.
There's that image of the covered-in-mud farmer in poverty…
So it's another reason to hold off on the dream, hold ON to the job….
In the 'safe' city.
Waiting for that 'right' time.
As I've been reflecting a lot on exactly how I can make this work, if someone were to ask me:
'Alex, what would you tell someone if they wanted to make this work?'
I'd say:
You need a remote income stream.
Consulting. Service provision. A personal brand selling courses like I do, or investments that cover you.
The cool thing is you can start making money with service work, like graphic design, copywriting, coaching, whatever your skill is, sooner than you think.
It's how I've made my living for over 15 years (illustration, writing and coaching). Long before I had courses or a big audience.
But here's the MOST important thing: you need to make a commitment first.
Because it is all figure-outable.
Once you commit, everything else becomes a challenge to solve rather than a reason to give up.
After you've made the commitment, the next best move is growing your online personal brand.
A brand immunises you from the AI job threat.
A brand gives you credibility, connections that become clients, referrals, visibility, and so on.
It makes it easier to create clients, even if you can make clients without a large audience.
It turns you into a business, not just someone trading hours for money.
That's what makes the farm actually possible.
Not someday, my friend. Sooner than you think.
Here's something I've prepped for you to make all of this even easier:
The Authority Writer Blueprint closes this Saturday at 5pm ET.
This is the system that clears mental noise, dissolves fear, and gives you the proven formula to build your brand online faster than most.
Three courses in one package.
