The asset I rely on more than anything else
I'm a day away from signing the deal to purchase a square of land and mud in rural Bulgaria.
The vein on my neck is occasionally buzzing.
I'm also having rather intrusive mental images that flash, of me spinning my arms, Sound of Music style, on arriving at my plot.
I think back over the last few months since I arrived in this country, having decided to build a base here.
One thing is for certain in this part of the world: relationships are everything.
You need a solid support network of living, breathing, ideally Bulgarian humans to talk to. Those people who recommend contacts or help you when you're stuck.
And, even though the process of finding a car, land, and so on has absolutely NOT been straightforward, I'd likely be lying in a ditch at this point had I not made those contacts fast.
And almost ALL of those contacts (now friends), whether it's my lawyer, the seller of the land, my personal assistant, or the lady who helped me use her address for my formal address, sprouted out of my newsletter.
What do I mean?
This:
I write an article or email newsletter.
I publish it.
People develop trust and familiarity in me through reading my stuff over time.
Someone sees I'm living here.
They reach out. We meet for coffee.
They introduce me to their contacts.
Publishing content this way, as I've done for a while, has become a tremendous asset.
My content of choice was always writing.
But when I first wrote articles, nobody read my stuff.
Mainly because I had no idea how to write things that people actually connected with.
It took me hundreds of posted articles to figure out how to do this properly.
My Online Writing Alchemy course distils the 16 key lessons for impactful writing I learned over 15 years of writing content.
It shows you how to write things people read and say, 'yup, I need to follow this guy. I'd like to meet him for a coffee one day.'
It takes clear guidance on how to do this.
(I'm dropping the price by $300 for the next few days, no joke - keep it a secret).
I will not be making this available at this price for much longer.
Enjoy,
Alex
