in the dark

-

I wrote over three hundred articles before anyone cared.

That sounds miserable, and some days it was, but those articles trained me to write faster, think clearer, and stop caring whether anyone clapped.

Because, looking back, the real skill isn’t in writing particularly well.

The skill is in learning how to keep writing when things don’t immediately click.

When there’s no immediate guarantee that what I wrote would ever get read.

But, for whatever reason at the time, I kept writing.

In the dark.

The audience (you, thank you) showed up eventually.

This is inevitable when you pass that first phase when no one is watching.

Most do not.
