I’ve struck riches!

-

I’d just spent over an hour sorting through all the coins in my now broken piggy bank on my bedroom floor.

£37.24

It wasn’t much.

But it was a lot for me (in the 90s). My heart fluttered.

This was my first taste of the power of compounded effort.

For the last few months, I’d been collecting all the coins I could find and save.

And I saw the result of repeated investments combined with patience.

I took this approach to my blogging later in life.

And today, writing from the Arctic Circle in Northern Finland, I am enjoying the benefits of what is essentially very simple.

Building up a collection of little investments (written articles, book chapters, tweets and emails) over time and watching them bear fruit.

Today I am enjoying the fruits of writing (clients, influence, course and book sales, freedom, sponsorship payments, Substack paid memberships, Medium.co income, etc).

I wrote for 20 mins to an hour. I shared posts online, even if I didn’t like them.

I continued writing, even when I felt the frustration of posting and writing articles that no one seemed to care about.

It didn’t matter.

Because with each post shared, I was improving. I was committed to the process.

And I’d seen how seemingly meaningless the process of small, gradual investments could be...

Until I actually saw the compounding effect bear results.

And much of this hasn’t taken many years to reach or a massive audience to make happen. I’ve seen the results (like a Substack income or newsletter sales) in a matter of months.

Much of this requires a kind of blind faith.

Like jumping off a cliff into a deep lagoon on a dark evening.

It feels a little off, unsafe, and sort of pointless.

I didn’t always need to feel it was worth it to know it was worth it.

If you’d like access to the course I developed to help online writers turn their stories and ideas into a growing, trusting audience, you might like to grab that today while it’s still available:

This course is designed for those just starting out, as well as for those who need more inspiration and clarity to expand their impact.
