Tomorrow morning decides it.

As I type this, two kittens are living in my caravan. Sex unclear.

I think it's a boy and a girl.

They're on their second plate of tuna.

Rewind to two hours ago.

I went to fetch my usual water from the local drinking fountain.

Seven kittens are there by the road, shading themselves under a tree.

I'd seen them a few times before on previous visits, and the tiny grey one caught my eye. Very friendly, very calm.

But they were all clearly very hungry.

I considered taking one the other day. But I didn't know the owner, so I dropped the idea.

Today I went to fill water. A guy who spoke English showed up, and we spoke.

Then the lady of the nearby restaurant came out, and I - in rather a spur of the moment said to the guy - Can you ask her if I can take one of her kittens.

She obliged, saying they are homeless and don't really have anyone.

I ended up taking not one, but two, into the car. I don't want cats leaving all their brothers and sisters, and the two I took seemed inseparable.

So, with a 'what the hell am I doing' and a shrug, I drove them both home.

This is one of those rare moments when I do something more on a whim, but I said I'd give it a night with these two and see whether my decision changes. I can always take them back.

I fed them some chicken, and they devoured it. And now another plate.

Now they're chilling on my sofa in the caravan.

Straight to the vet tomorrow.

I have to figure it out as I go.

But here we are.

Sometimes you have to follow what feels right in your soul.

This feels right.

Now I have two caravan buddies.

Btw, I'm not saying taking these two kittens was particularly courageous, but I wrote a book that shares the 25 key habits of self-respect.

A guy told me recently he continues to buy copies for his friends.

SO - if you ever have something you want in life but you're not taking steps to take the leap, it's more than likely a self-respect thing.

Because you really do come first.

Grab the special book bundle to learn the tiny daily habits that will transform your self-respect and confidence in a week.

Peace and kittens,

Alex
