I’m fed up.

-

And I don’t know what to write.

So I got up from my desk.

Walked to my bedroom and I did the unthinkable…

I lay down and stared at the ceiling.

Ten minutes went by.

An idea poked out like a gopher at a golf course.

Then another.

Soon, I had a bundle of ideas.

Ideas for today’s Mastery Den Substack article I’d been meaning to write.

I wrote them down with a pen.

And that’s often the way life goes as a writer or creative person.

Writing is a craft that is very closely correlated with the ability to have what I call ‘creative fluidity.’

When I’m pent up or stressed, creativity doesn’t appear.

And when that tap is blocked with heavy emotions, so is my business.

That’s my livelihood, too.

But solutions abound.

I do what takes the pressure off. I lie down. I nap. I walk in parks.

I’ve learned to give myself permission to do seemingly lazy things like these.

And when you do this…

Just do one thing.

Bring your notebook.

P.S. if you’ve been enjoying my emails and you feel a little tickle to support me in some way, get my Art of Self Respect book.

If you buy it here, you get a bundle of extra bonuses. It keeps me going and is always appreciated.

P.P.S. What’s one thing you follow me for that you’d like me to share more about?

Just hit reply to this email, and I’ll read it.

Thanks and toodles.
