I’m afraid the Internet died.

-

Where is everyone?

Am I alone on the Internet?

Does anyone like me?

These are just some of the questions someone who writes and sends emails daily asks himself.

Especially when things seem quieter than usual.

Of course, it’s summer now, and I remember that people are out of their houses.

Lying on the grass.

Cycling and picking raspberries.

On holidays.

Maybe not you guys in the southern hemisphere…

But either way, many, including myself, can feel less inspired to keep up the consistency game when engagement seems down.

You may be thinking the same if you’re building your online brand and sharing content.

But then I squint through my already squinty eyes.

I hum greetings to the creativity gods.

I hum shout: ‘DO I BOTHER?’

I wait.

Cough.

Hum some more.

They finally communicate through tree whispers coming from the garden.

‘Yes. Create you shall, no maaatter the weather.’

I hummed back: ‘Why?

They whisper back:

  • You keep your momentuuuum.

  • You creeeeate an advantage and get ahead while most are on a break.

  • You build confiiiiiidence and feel good about publishiiiing.

  • You keep your mind aaaaactive and train yourself to be consistent.

  • You improve your skills while others eeeet ice cream.

This is what I always say:

The difference isn’t made when creativity seems effortless.

The difference is made when you least feel like it.

That’s when you make the most (yet silent) progress.

So, create, regardless.
