- I feel like an outsider
I feel like an outsider
-
I always wondered why I rarely felt I could connect with most people.
What was normal to most felt strange to me.
I felt like an outsider.
And I still do.
At first, it felt lonely. I’d question myself continually, and make myself feel inadequate and weird.
But over time, I began to see the good in being different.
I learned more about the successful people of our times:
Kafka
Curie
Jobs
Picasso
Tesla
Van Gogh
I saw they rarely felt like they belonged, but went on to create marvellous things regardless.
I repeatedly asked myself the question:
What if being an outsider was a good thing, rather than some kind of heavy curse?
What if not conforming to the masses was a sign you were special, rather than a freak?
I listed out why those things for which I used to berate myself were actually secret superpowers.
If you ever feel like an outsider, rejoice.
Not one person who accomplished anything of worth in the history of man felt like they belonged.
Embracing your differences is one of the steps in my course: ‘Let Go of the S#it That Weakens You.’
I created the course after I realised that worrying about what others think is the common thread limiting just about every client I’ve ever worked with.
I saw how many of us were sabotaging our success by these fears.
And how sad it is that a few insecurities can derail so many people.
Life is too short to sit around doubting yourself.
This ends now.
