- I don’t like being the centre of attention.
I don’t like being the centre of attention.
(But I also want to make a living)
I’m writing this from a tiny cabin in Ivalo, Northern Finland.
Rain falls gently.
The nearby river flows pale, reflecting storm clouds.
I’m not in work-mode, but I do want to stay connected to my subscribers.
The message for today is simple...
We live in an
attention economy.
It serves me, a writer and creator, to be on people’s minds.
Even if I’m away from my usual routine.
But I also don’t like to be the centre of attention.
Well, the good news is, I don’t need to share cringe Tik-Tok dances to stay front of your mind.
I can send an email. And it needn’t be complicated.
Most people (including me, many times) hold back and fade into obscurity because we overcomplicate what content should look like.
But, it can be a paragraph.
It can be a one-line question.
That creates leverage.
Now you’re front of mind again.
And it only took three minutes.
