How to surprise your friends

(the creativity hack that few understand)

I’ve had many people approach me over the years and ask how I can be so prolific.

I mean, I write more than seven articles a week.

You have so many ideas, Alex.

You must be a really creative person.

Don’t you ever run out of ideas?

The funny thing is that I had far fewer ideas when I initially didn’t write so much.

Every new blog post I wrote felt like I was reaching.

I still often get resistance to write.

But the gap between that feeling and just writing is short.

I can turn it around quickly because I’ve trained myself to lean in and just start tapping keys.

I’m able to find fresh ideas quickly because of this:

I have somewhere to put my ideas.

When I commit to creating something somewhere, that is shared here, on this time, I have somewhere to put my ideas.

When we have a place to put ideas, something interesting happens.

The ideas emerge more often.

Especially when we commit to doing it more often.

The tap unblocks and out they pop.

All because you have somewhere to put them.

The same applies to any creative endeavour you set your mind to.

Write every day for a month.

Create every day for a year.

Commitment precedes creativity.

Try it for yourself.

And if you need extra guidance in packaging your written ideas so that you increase your post’s engagement by 50% or more, you can invest in my writing course.
