Get busy (I'm serious)
-
A buddy of mine has been complaining about feeling stuck, unmotivated and overwhelmed recently.
I asked why he hadn't made progress on the course he was building.
He said he's been lacking energy.
This is more of a problem for more people, I'm realising.
When I asked how he's spending his time, he said he 'probably spends hours scrolling the Internet and watching YouTube.'
Yeah, no wonder you are lost, bro.
People underestimate how much Internet consumption is affecting us.
But what's the connection between being overstimulated and our lack of motivation?
Because we've lost touch with our inner creative mind.
When we binge on trash all day through a screen, we fill our minds with crap, noise, and additional stuffs.
All of these swirling thoughts and numbed dopamine receptors block our inner wisdom.
When we're blocked, we become less sensitive, more on edge, and more overwhelmed.
We spent hundreds of thousands of years closely connected to this inner wisdom, intuition, MIND, whatever you want to call it.
Now it's blocked, and we're all stuck.
The solution?
Either:
Do nothing actively. (focus on breath, for eg)
OR:
Get busy.
I prefer the second because you get stuff done and create MASSIVE momentum while getting out of your head and getting stuck in consumption.
Fill your calendar. Do more. Jump into full life immersion.
When you do more, consume less, your Intelligence improves, and you make better decisions.
Taking action is all good and well, but the real action-takers act from a foundation of deep self-respect.
My book, The Art of Self Respect, gives you that foundation through a series of tiny daily habits that clean up the confident self-identity you HAD ALL ALONG.
