Feed the fire while it's burning

-

The most productive periods of my life have always happened when I was a little bit obsessed.

There'd certainly be no 'balance.'

I'd always be unreasonable about how much time I gave the centre of my attention.

Right now the obsession is finding land in rural Bulgaria. I'm thinking about it more than the other stuff.

The novel has taken a back seat this week, and that's okay.

I'm still spending some time on it daily. But the land search has the momentum right now, and I've learned to follow whichever fire is burning hottest.

The key is knowing which obsession to feed and making sure the other plates keep spinning, even if they're spinning slower than usual.

Balance is great advice for people who aren't trying to build something uncommon.

But if you're in a season where one thing has grabbed you by the throat, lean into it.

Give it the ‘unreasonable’ amount of time. The other stuff doesn't disappear; it just waits its turn.

You can rest when the fire dies down. But while it's burning, FEED that sucker.

Momentum is a massively underrated commodity.

The hard part is doing this without your brain turning the spinning plates into a panic.

Untethered Mind is the course that shows you how I fixed that for me.

If your brain won't let you go all in without punishing you with worry about the rest, this is what stops it.
