Everyone sounds the same online
OWA closing soon
In 2022, Twitter was booming, and my growth there was ridiculous.
I grew 100,000 followers in less than 9 months.
Everyone was riding the algorithm like they were exploiting some weird glitch.
Growth was great for many.
Suddenly, people with five months of experience were calling themselves 'Twitter growth experts.'
They'd share their frameworks and clever templates for viral tweets. They had all the 'proven structures' for engagement.
But soon, every Twitter post was a clone of the next.
'I'm 37. Here are five things I wish I knew…'
'It feels illegal to know these ten hacks…'
'I spent 10 years learning this. You can learn it in 10 minutes...'
Twitter became a place for making friends, but I couldn't stomach reading much of the crap there.
Now, a few years later, everyone's doing the same thing, and it's even worse because they're all using AI to mould their posts.
So the writing is bland, using the same tired writing structures, filtered through an empty AI brain.
Frameworks are a bit like pieces of watermelon left out for the ants.
The ants come. The melon gets devoured. The ants move on.
The frameworks get used up, everyone sounds the same, and people move on to the next writing 'hack.'
Having built a readership of over 200,000 over the last 15 years, my 'templates' were minimal:
Here's the problem, maybe weave in a story, provide a solution, call to action.
And it matters far more HOW I write.
I write like I'm talking to a good friend about things I actually care about and that grab me at an emotional level.
It’s this that has not only connected me with more readers, but it keeps me interested and motivated to write for a long time.
When you write what you truly mean with intention, the structure unfolds naturally.
And you'll have readers who really care.
Online Writing Alchemy is one of the few courses that focuses on writing like a human, based on a deep understanding (not 4 months like some Twitter gurus) of what has worked over 15 years of online writing.
Even if you do choose to write with the help of AI, you need to know the foundation of what makes people want to read in the first place.
This course gives you that.
For Halloween, I'm offering the course at $147 (usually $397).
You get full lifetime access plus a study guide and writing prompts to give you momentum for weeks.
This closes Friday, 31st October at 6pm ET.
