Cultivating an OKness with NOT knowing

-

There's a guilty secret most of us hold and rarely talk about.

We hate not knowing what will happen next.

Later today, tomorrow, next week, next year.

It triggers an internal need in many of us to seize greater control on our lives.

We wish we could be more certain.

We plan, and analyse, and overthink.

And it gets us nowhere but more wound up.

The need for certainty drives us to keep watching the game when the advertisements pass.

We need that gap filled.

But this discomfort with not knowing also limits us greatly.

We decide against bold moves.

We avoid showing up.

We cancel last minute.

Because we THINK we should know more, when we aren't SUPPOSED to.

Those who go far step into uncertainty more than most people.

But here's something cool...

You CAN develop the skill of being OK with uncertainty, which will lead to a happier (and luckier) life.

It's not something you're born with.

You develop it by taking more action in things you don't have all the answers in.

You book that surf lesson.

You take that drive through Romania.

Lean into the uncertainty daily, and the rewards will come.

If you'd like to develop a version of you that will get further than most through small daily habits like these, you'll love the Art of Self Respect book.

Because it's what you DO every day that moulds your sense of self.

And when you adopt the best habits, you'll develop a version of you that attracts success, and others won't know why.

Peace out home-peoples.
