- A world of calm awaits
A world of calm awaits
. . .
I heard a bone-shattering hum while recording a video in my home office today.
The neighbour was drilling again.
The camera blinked red, waiting for me to keep talking.
BRRRRRRRRRRR.
I took a breath and waited.
Drill stops and I continue.
I continued this way for ten minutes until I finally finished recording.
Job done.
Ten years ago, I would have stood up, yelled and given up.
I often disregard these little moments as insignificant.
But often, they remind me how much I’ve grown.
Past me would have been baffled at my level of calm today. What changed?
I wasn’t using any clever mindset ‘tactics.’
I hadn’t had a lobotomy.
I hadn’t lived in a monastery for five years of silent meditation.
All that changed was this:
I now understand how my thoughts work.
I know that flying into a rage has nothing to do with a drill...
...And everything to do with how I see my thoughts.
I know my feelings come from my thoughts and not the drill.
The drill is neutral, UNTIL I make it a source of hell in my mind.
I no longer see the need to get upset because I understand how my thoughts work and how I now have a choice in whether to listen to them.
I know it’s me creating the anger.
So, I choose to not be angry.
It really can be that simple, when you understand thoughts.
Understanding creates peace.
Understanding makes you surprisingly emotionally resilient.
If you’d like to experience the same sequence of insights about how thoughts work as I did, you’ll want to grab my course.
Untethered Mind guides you through these insights, so that by the end of the course, you understand your thoughts deeply, and you experience the world with surprising calm.
Bianca said this about the course: “Give yourself the gift of the Untethered Mind course. It is much more than worth it. The best investment/gift I gave myself in 2024. 200% recommend it.”
