10 sentences that make you more focused than 98% of people

A strange conflict is taking hold of much of society.

There’s more we want to achieve, more we feel we need to do, and more gripping our interests and fascinations.

Yet many of us report being overwhelmed, stressed, and lacking focus.

Let’s set this right.

Having a basic grasp of the most helpful ideas made the biggest difference in my focus.

Here they are:

Focus is a man-made idea that has led to us over-complicating what focus truly entails.

Every one of us is 100% focused all the time, but we’re just not necessarily focused on the things that are best for us.

We judge ourselves for being unfocused because we see poor results from misdirected focus.

Self-judgement, ironically, creates pressure in us to perform harder, inadvertently making us less effective.

The solution is to first identify the small handful of things that have the most consequential effect on the things we really want.

Once identified, our task is to redirect our focus (attention) away from what moves us away from our wants towards those things that move us toward our wants.

Focus does not mean spending time in the past or the future. Focus, by definition, is about maintaining an uncommon alignment with the task in front of you.

When we find a way to enjoy the highest priority, single task in front of us, we perform better.

When not criticising or doubting ourselves via our thoughts, we become more present, automatically enjoy ourselves, and become 10 times more effective.

Combine prioritisation and effectiveness, and you will be an unstoppable, focused freak of nature.
